What is some good point and bad points about Absolute Monarchy?

It worked in the past, with varying degrees of success but, they were the benign dictators who genuinely put the welfare of the people first. If they were any good, they would have lasted a lot longer than they did. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. The more educated people became, the less likely the success. The will of the people can only be ignored for so long.
