Does enlightenment begin when you recognize your own hypocrisy?

It certainly can't hurt. I know I am a hypocrite. I believe that every single person on this earth is a hypocrite, and I have an expanding radius of evidence to prove it. In our society and in our world, there is a consistent inconsistency between what we say and what we do. People can refuse to acknowledge that they are hypocrites, just like they can refuse to admit that they are sinners. I am a hypocrite, and a sinner. I am not proud of these things, but it is just the truth.
