Has anyone else noticed this with hair products?

Okay so I have department products (chic, big y hair, short y hair, Sammy's hair salon, nexxus, ect) and ive noticed that there products have a nasty smell to them or a weird smell; compared to drugstore hair products. Does anyone else notice that department hair products smell weird compared to drug store products which smell fruity, or floral?
