Alternative to seeing a psychiatrist ? (re-posted for more answers)?

I'm sorry for all your pain you have suffered and for the means you have chosen to deal with these! The only thing I think will help is going to speak to someone - not a psychiatrist but a youth counsellor or psychologist? Do you maybe have a youth centre in your town? If you don't want any help like that, you're taking on a major task of having to help yourself - that's a big challenge, you're going to have to do some introspection on why you feel and do what you feel and do :) But all of this can be so much easier when having the right support system like that of a trained, professional counsellor. I'd like to add, you yourself said that cutting is an addiction for you - drug addicts seek professional help, so I would think you need to too. Maybe try another psychiatrist? There can be some prude weirdos out there - tell your parents it's like seeing a doctor, they'd let you go to another doctor if s/he made you feel uncomfortable or whatever? If you ever feel the need to talk or just let go of some of the emotions, feel free to contact me :) Good luck and stay strong!
