Does he really like me? ?

Okay, ill try to make this as short as possible, but im 14(15 next month) and theres a guy ive liked for a while whos 15, and is in one of my cles. Weve known each other since we were 2, and we used to be in gymnastics together as toddlers and were best friends. But as we grew up, we grew farther apart, and rarely say hi until this year. We talk a few times every day, and i help him out with the work and everything. I gave him a note asking him to the sadie hawkins dance, and he told me he would give it back the next day, but never did. After about a week, i asked him if he couldgo, and he said he couldnt. I thought he just didnt like me at first, but it turns out they had wrestling the day of the dance, but it was rescheduled because of wrestling. I made the mistake of telling my cousin i liked him, and she went up and asked him if he liked me and he said "kinda". So im not sure what that means, but we talk in a flirtatious way sometimes and in a joking way. Do you think he likes me, or could he just like me as a friend?
